Cookie policy

This website sets a single cookie, and it remembers your language. Here is which one, what for, and how to get rid of it.

What a cookie does, and what the law says about it

A cookie is a small file that a website stores on your device to remember something between two pages or two visits: a language, an open session, or (most often) where you have been on other websites.

In Belgium, article 129 of the Act of 13 June 2005 on electronic communications requires us to inform you and obtain your agreement before storing or reading any information on your device. That agreement is not required for what is strictly necessary to provide the service you asked for. Where a cookie also processes personal data, the GDPR applies on top.

The cookie this website sets

Cookies set by paycore.be, their purpose and their lifetime
CookiePurposeLifetimeConsent
NEXT_LOCALERemembers the language you chose, so we can serve the right version without asking again on every visitSession: deleted when you close the browserNot required: strictly necessary for the service requested

It is set by paycore.be itself, it holds nothing but the language code (« fr », « nl » or « en ») and nobody else reads it. No third-party cookie is set without an action from you: the only third party this website can call is the map on the contact page, and it only loads if you click to display it.

The offline cache, which is not a cookie

The website installs like an app and stays readable without a network connection. To do that, your browser keeps a copy of the pages you visited, of the fonts and of the images. That is storage on your device, and it therefore deserves to be declared here.

That cache holds nothing but public pages of the website. No personal data, no identifier, nothing that could recognise you. It never leaves your device. It disappears if you uninstall the app or clear the site's data in your browser.

What this website does not do

The list of what is missing says more than the list of what remains.

  • No analytics: no Google Analytics, and no equivalent.
  • No advertising pixel, no ad network cookie, no retargeting.
  • No tracking share buttons, no video. One map, on the contact page, and it stays off until you display it.
  • No font loaded from a third-party service: they are served by this site, so your browser never calls Google.
  • No A/B testing tool, no session recording, no heatmap.

That is also why no banner greeted you on arrival: there is nothing to accept or refuse. The day analytics are put in place, they will load only after your agreement, refusing will be as simple and as visible as accepting, and this page will be completed before anything is stored.

Taking back control

  • Deleting the language cookie: go to your browser settings, privacy section, site data. The next visit will start again from your browser's language.
  • Blocking cookies from this site: possible in every browser. The site keeps working; it simply stops remembering your language.
  • Clearing the offline cache: clear the site's data, or uninstall the app if you had added it to your home screen.

The « Do Not Track » signal and your browser's global privacy control signal have no effect here, for want of any tracker to switch off.

If this changes

This page is updated before anything new is stored, not after. The date at the top gives the latest revision.
